Auto repair shop suspended on Google

Updated November 4, 2026

Repair and body shops are storefront businesses with bays, signs and a counter, which makes them easy to verify. Suspensions tend to come from naming and from splitting one shop into several profiles.

Common auto repair triggers

Car dealers follow a separate set of Google guidelines for dealerships, which this page does not cover.

What an auto repair appeal needs

Repair shops are storefronts, which helps: there is a sign, a bay and a counter to point to. The difficulty is usually the profile structure, such as department profiles that should not exist or a name built from makes and services, plus state repair registration rules that vary widely.

Common questions

Can I list the car brands I service in my shop's name?
No, unless they are part of your real, registered shop name. Google's guidelines exclude product and service descriptions from the business name. Put the makes you work on in services and the description.
Can my body shop and repair shop have separate profiles?
Only if they operate as distinct public-facing departments, typically with their own entrance, categories, and sometimes hours, and each has a different name. One shop with two signs in the same bay does not qualify.
